PritchettDonald Richard Pritchett was born on April 15, 1942. He was the last of eight children born to Max Norman Pritchett and Mary Evelyn Eaves in Greenville, Kentucky.  Donald departed this life on May 4, 2015 from respiratory failure due to COPD.

Donald attended Drakesboro Community High School in Greenville, KY, and then went on to attend Hampton University, Hampton, VA, in 1960.  While at Hampton, he majored in Electrical Engineering and was a member of the Men’s Council.  He graduated from Hampton in 1965 with a B.S.E. degree.

Following graduation, he moved to Baltimore, MD and started his 37 year career as a Quality Assurance Engineer at Westinghouse/Northrop Grumman Corporation, retiring in 2006.

While at times he enjoyed his solitude, he had a mischievous nature and liked to joke and pull pranks with his close friends.  He also enjoyed photography and liked to take pictures of nature and his beloved dog Andy and adopted dog Mandy (his sister Lenora’s pet). He also liked to travel and work in his yard.  Donald was an avid fan of college sports especially football.  He also enjoyed watching professional football, especially the Baltimore Ravens.

Donald is survived by nieces and nephews: Randall Pritchett, Chicago;  Peter Phelps (Catherine), Arlington, VA; Max Phelps, Baltimore, MD; Norman Pritchett (Georgia), Salinas, CA; Raymond Dandridge and Paula Dandridge, Nashville, TN; Henry M. Pritchett, Memphis, TN ; Jennifer Pritchett-Berry (Fred), Robbinsville, NJ; Janice and Jeanette Pritchett, Neptune City, NJ; a number of great-nieces, nephews, and cousins; devoted friends Jeane Morehead and Marguerite and Joseph Costello; and other close friends.

Services are noon on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at Bibbs Funeral Home, Greenville. Visitation is from 11:00 to 12:00 at the Funeral Home on Tuesday. Rev. Robert C. Kendrick, Officiating. Burial in West End Cemetery, Greenville. Bibbs Funeral Home in Greenville is in charge of arrangements.
