OWENSBORO, KY., — Billy Gene Milan, 75, of Owensboro passed away Friday, February 9, 2018 at the Signature Hillcrest Nursing Home after a short illness. He was born in Owensboro on June 12,1942 to the late Marrine Coleman Shaw and the late Othello Millom. He attended Western High School, professed his faith at an early age and was of the Baptist faith. Sergeant Billy Gene Milan served in the U.S. Army being stationed at Fort Bragg N.C. with the 101st Airborne Division and made over 300 parachute jumps while serving in the Vietnam War. He was a member of the VFW Post 696 and AMVETS. This Vietnam Vet completed 3 tours. Billy loved going to the VFW Post 696 every day and talking about war times. He loved fishing and collecting junk. Billy was a loving and kind person who would do anything in the world for you, if you were in need.
Billy is preceded in death by his parents Othello Millom, Sr. and Marrine Coleman Shaw and a sister Carolyn Cooper Barnes.

While surrounded by his family on November 21, 2017 David took his last breath on earth and took his first breath of eternity with his Lord and Savior. He was a member of the Wesley Chapel A.ME. Zion Church, Greenville and is presently a member of The New Testament Christian Church, Louisville, KY. He was previously employed at Super Value in Greenville, UPS in Louisville, a miner for Peabody Coal Company and a beloved cook at Shady Cliff in Lake Malone. He graduated from Greenville High School in 1976, where he excelled in basketball and baseball. He was also known by friends as ‘Bear’ and ‘Boo’. In addition, he was an avid sports fan, loved the Cincinnati Reds, and adored the University of Kentucky Basketball Team.

CORYDON, KY., — William Glen Compton age 72 born March 5, 1945 in Corydon, KY passed away on October 11, 2017 while at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, IN. William was a member of Memorial Baptist Church. He retired from Columbia Nursing Home after 36 years of employment where he was truly loved by his co-workers and the residents. Glen (as he was known) wouldn’t sit still, he loved meeting people, none of which he treated like a stranger he was always nice to everyone. He would go to the race track to make bets then come home and watch the races. Never a big man, but he loved to eat. You could often find him just sitting on the front porch. Glen will be missed by all who knew him.
Glen is preceded in death by his mother Addie Harris and step-father Nathanial Harris, father James C. Compton, son Adam Blair and brothers Everett Eugene and James T. Compton.

She was a graduate of Sacramento High School, moved to Cleaton in 1959, and was married to the love of her life, Mr. Billy Gott, for 48 years. She became a member of the Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church where she faithfully served in the following capacities; president of the Senior Choir, Pastor’s Aide, Mother’s Board, and Missionary Board. Also, she served as the assistant Church Treasurer, Missionary Treasurer, Sunday School Teacher, and Sunday School Superintendent. In addition, she was a member of the Senior Choir, the Ensemble Choir, and Praise Team along with being an active, dedicated member of the 1st District Association, KMBA Women’s Auxiliary and Circle #4. She worked at Cowdens Sewing Factory and H&R Block in Central City, Ky.

MADISONVILLE, Ky. — Paul Edward Bowman, 65, of Madisonville, Ky., died Tuesday, July 26, 2016, at the St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville, Ind. Mr. Bowman was born Oct. 12, 1950, in Mortons Gap, Ky. He resided at the Ridgewood Terrace Nursing Home in Madisonville.
He received Jesus in his heart at an early age at the St. James Baptist Church in Barnsley, Ky. Since then he had the desire to work for the Lord. He loved Jesus, his family, helping others when he could and worked in the coal mines for a while with his father. He attended the Branch Street Elementary School in Madisonville, Rosenwald High School and South Hopkins High School where he played basketball. His hobbies were gardening, listening to gospel music and reading the Bible.
Survivors include three brothers; Rufus Bowman, Jr., of Madisonville, Dennis Bowman, of Hopkinsville, Ky., and Bobby Bowman, of Barnsley, Ky.; three sisters, Margie Bowman, Barbara Bowman and Wanda Bowman, all of Madisonville; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
His parents, Rev. Rufus C. Bowman, Sr., and Mrs. Gonzella Patton Bowman, and one sister, Mary L. Bowman Stumn, all preceded him in death.
Services will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 30, at the First Missionary Baptist Church, in Greenville, Ky. Burial will be in Flat Creek Cemetery in Mortons Gap. Rev. Terrence Minor will officiate with Min. Catrena Bowman as eulogist.
Bibbs Funeral Home in Greenville is in charge of arrangements.
Danny Joe McGuire, 67, born, July 28,1948, in Sikeston, Mo., died Sunday, June 12, 2016, at the Heartford House in Owensboro, Ky. Throughout his lifetime, he’s been of the Pentecostal faith. He loved mowing his yard, had a passionate desire toward operating heavy machinery equipment, and enjoyed fishing.
Survivors include one son; Matthew (Dawn) McGuire, Colfax, Ind.; one daughter, Julie McGuire, of Central City, Ky.; five grandsons, Keith, Jeffrey,Clinton, Gaige, and Daniel; one granddaughter, Paige; two great-grandchildren, Railyn, and Zay-Lee; two brothers, Fred McGuire, of Casco, Mich., Pete (Diana) McGuire, of Windfall, Ind.; five sisters, Carmoletta Reed, of Springville, Ind., Delberta Wilson, of Oakland, Ind., Deloris (Robert) Kirk, of Toledo, Ohio, Renay McGuire, of Lafayette, Ind., Ardella (Brad) Bulger, Kokomo, Ind.; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and other more distant relatives and friends.
His parents, Howard (Sonny) McGuire, Rhoda McGuire, and one nephew, Robert Williams, all preceded him in death.
Services are at 12 noon on Saturday, June 18, at the Pentecostals of Muhlenberg in Central City.
Visitation from 10 am. until the time of service at the church on Saturday. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Central City. Rev. Brian Neighbors will be officiating and Rev. Robert C. Kendrick, will officiate at Rose Hill Cemetery.
