Obituaries

Darrel Lee Hocker, Greenville

GREENVILLE, KY Darrel Lee Hocker, 69, Greenville was born July 24, 1956, in Greenville, KY, died Monday, December 22, 2025 at his family home in Greenville, KY.


He was a member of the former New Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Depoy, Kentucky and member of the choir. He was Honorably Discharged from the United States Marine Corp., worked at Island Creek Coal Mines and was a member of the Community Brotherhood. He loved to fish, and was an avid fan of the Kentucky Wildcats.


His wife, Beverly Lee Hocker; both parents, Earl & Delphine Hocker, brothers, Harry Hocker, James Albert Hocker, Lewis Hocker, Calvin Hocker and Rev. Earl Hocker, Jr.; sisters, Joyce, Doris and Linda Hocker all preceded him in death.


Survivors include his two sons, Phillip Smith, Greenville, KY and William Cooper, Brooklyn, New York; three daughters, Kendrea Smith, Phelan ( Steve ) Aliprandi and Mercedes Marie Watkins, all of Greenville, KY; four grandchildren; one brother, Vernon (Faye) Hocker, Owensboro, KY; one sister; Ruthie Mae (Richard) Washington, Paducah, KY; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.


Funeral services will be held at First Missionary Baptist Church, in Greenville, KY on Saturday, December 27, 2025 at 1:00 with visitation from 12 Noon until time of service.


Burial in West End Cemetery, Greenville, KY. Rev. John Lee III, Officiant & Eulogist.

Georgetta (Wilson) Parker, of Cleaton

CLEATON, KY., Georgetta (Wilson) Parker, of Cleaton, Kentucky departed this life, November 18, 2025 at her daughter’s home in Oak, Grove, Kentucky. She was born July 22, 1952, in Louisville, Kentucky. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in Cleaton where she served on the Board of Trustees, Usher Board, sang in the Choir and was a Sunday School Teacher.


Loved ones preceding her in death, a loving husband, Paul F. Parker, Jr., and one great grandchild, Ca’Liyah Xamira Daniels.


She leaves to cherish her memories: one daughter, Jamesetta Nash, Oak Grove, KY; three sons, Kirk Wilson, Greenville, KY, Tyrone( Monica) Wilson, Central City, KY and Terry Wilson, Cleaton, KY; 10 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; twin brother, George ( Regina) Wilson, Central City, KY; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.


Funeral Services will be held at Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church, in Cleaton, KY on Saturday, November 29, 2025 at 12 Noon with visitation from 11 until time of service. 


Burial in West End Cemetery, Greenville, KY. Rev. Jerrell M. Clark, Jr., Officiating and Eulogist.

Minister George Sanders Baker, 78, of Greenville

GREENVILLE, KY., Minister George Sanders Baker, 78, of Greenville, KY, born June 14, 1947 entered eternal rest on Sunday, September 28, 2025, in Greenville, KY surrounded by his loving family.


He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jean Baker; parents, Lonnie Baker and Ranie Mae Bard; one brother, William Jagoe; one sister, Joyce Jagoe; one granddaughter, Ashton Danielle Bard and great-grand baby boy, Bentley William Rife. 

He was a member of New Immanuel in Central City, KY since 2012 and ordained in 2024.

His employment consists of working at P & M Coal Mines, Big Rivers Electric Plant, Plastic Products Co. shift leader and a custodian at Greenville Elementary School.

He graduated from Greenville High School and was a part of the Greenville High School basketball team.


He loved the Lord and was an avid Louisville Basketball fan.

He leaves behind to cherish his memories, four daughters, Carmon (Tyrone) Rife, Tyra Baker, Michelle Baker and Marisa Baker, all of Greenville, KY; six grandchildren, LaMichael Rife, Breana Dulin, Aaron Bard Jr., Channa Foster, Leila Cunningham and LaBray Cunningham; two great grandchildren, Sander Dulin and Emoni Dulin; one sister Regina (Keith) Briggs, Kendallville, IN;  a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.   

 

Funeral services are Saturday, October 4, 1:00, at New Immanuel Anointed Church of the Living God, 211 N. 2nd Street, Central City, KY with visitation from 11:00-1:00 until time of service. Burial in West End Cemetery, Greenville, KY. Apostle Jennifer Carney, Officiating.
